Beef And Potato Mix
- 3 lb. round steak, cut into strips
- 1/3 c. oil
- 2 c. water
- 4 beef bouillon cubes
- 1/2 c. vinegar
- 1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
- 2 Tbsp. brown sugar
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 1 tsp. ground allspice
- 1/2 tsp. ground cloves
- 1 stick cinnamon
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 4 onions, sliced 1/4-inch thick
- 2 c. green pepper
- 3/4 lb. fresh mushrooms
- 1/2 c. flour
- 3/4 c. water
- 1 c. grated Parmesan cheese
- 6 c. hot seasoned mashed potatoes
- paprika (for top)
- Brown steak in hot oil, add next 14 ingredients.
- Cover and simmer 45 minutes.
- Add mushrooms, cook another 35 minutes. Remove cinnamon sticks, combine flour and 3/4 cup water in jar. Shake.
- Stir in stew, cook until thickened.
- Pour into 4-quart casserole dish.
- Stir Parmesan cheese into hot mashed potatoes. Spoon potatoes around casserole.
- Sprinkle with paprika.
- Bake at 375u0b0 for 50 minutes.
