Best Yet Hot Rolls
- 1/4 c. warm water (not hot; 110~ to 115~)
- 1 pkg. Fleischmann's RapidRise yeast
- 3/4 c. lukewarm water
- 1 tsp. sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 egg
- 1/4 c. soft shortening
- 3 c. flour (Gold Medal)
- In bowl, dissolve yeast in water.
- Add milk, sugar, salt, egg, shortening and half of the flour to yeast.
- Mix with spoon until smooth.
- Add remaining flour and mix until smooth.
- Turn dough onto lightly floured working area; knead until smooth (5 minutes). Round up in greased bowl.
- Bring greased side up; cover with Handi-Wrap.
- Let rise in warm place (85u0b0) until double, about 1 1/2 hours.
- Punch down and let rise again until almost double (about 30 minutes).
- Shape dough into rolls.
- Place in greased baking pan and let rise.
- Bake at 450u0b0.
