Cinnamon Kuchen
- 2 c. lukewarm milk
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 2 tsp. salt
- 2 pkg. yeast
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1/2 c. soft shortening
- 7 to 7 1/2 c. sifted flour
- brown sugar
- cinnamon
- 1/2 can condensed or evaporated milk
- Mix together milk, sugar and salt.
- Add yeast.
- Stir in eggs and add shortening.
- Add flour.
- Knead dough until elastic.
- Put in greased bowl and let rise until double, 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Punch down.
- Turn over in bowl and let rise about 30 to 45 minutes.
- Roll dough to about 1/2-inch thick and put on cookie sheet.
- Let rise about 30 minutes.
- Punch holes in dough, but not all way through.
- Sprinkle with brown sugar, cinnamon and about 1/2 can condensed or evaporated milk.
- Bake at 350u0b0 for 25 to 30 minutes.
