Dark Sweet And Sour Sauce

  1. Place cornstarch in a small saucepan.
  2. Drizzle in the water and whisk until the cornstarch dissolves.
  3. Whisk in the remaining ingredients, then place the pot over medium heat.
  4. Heat to the boiling point, whisking constantly. Just before the sauce boils, turn the heat down to a simmer, and keep whisking 2 to 3 minutes or until slightly thickened and very smooth.
  5. Serve hot or warm over vegetables or other savory foods.
