Eggnog Wreath
- 2 envelopes unflavored gelatin
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 1/4 c. milk
- 4 eggs, separated
- 2 Tbsp. rum (or rum flavoring, 2 tsp.)
- 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
- 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
- 1 c. heavy cream, whipped
- In medium saucepan,
- mix
- gelatin
- with
- half of sugar. Blend in milk and egg
- yolks.
- Let
- stand 1 minute.
- Stir over low
- heat until
- gelatin
- istompletely
- dissolved,tbout
- 5 minutes.
- Add rum
- and
- nutmeg.
- Chill,
- stirring occasionally until mixture mounds slightly
- when
- dropped from a spoon.
- In large bowl, beat egg
- whites with cream of tartar until foamy. Beat in remaining sugar,
- 1
- tablespoon at a time until whites are glossy and stand intoft peaks.
- Fold in gelatin mixture and whipped cream.
- Turn into
- 6
- cup ring mold.
- Chill until firm.takes 8 servings.
