Madeline'S Coffee Cake

  1. In a bowl, cream the butter and sugar.
  2. Add the eggs, sour cream and vanilla, beating until well blended.
  3. Sift flour, baking powder, salt and soda together.
  4. Add gradually to creamed mixture, beating after each addition.
  5. Mix walnuts with sugar and cinnamon mixture.
  6. Butter a 10-inch tube pan.
  7. Turn 1/2 of the batter into pan.
  8. Sprinkle walnut and sugar mixture on top.
  9. Add rest of batter and cover the top with nut mixture. Bake in moderate oven for 45 minutes.
  10. Serve warm or cold.
