Anise Slices(Biscotti)

  1. Into large bowl, measure 1 1/2 cups flour and remaining ingredients.
  2. With a mixer at low speed, beat ingredients until just mixed.
  3. Increase speed to medium and beat 3 minutes, occasionally scraping bowl.
  4. With spoon, stir in remaining 1 cup flour.
  5. Wrap dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate until firm. Preheat oven to 375u0b0.
  6. Grease a large cookie sheet.
  7. Divide dough in half.
  8. On floured surface, shape each half into 10 x 3-inch loaf.
  9. Place loaves 2-inches apart on cookie sheet.
  10. Bake 20 minutes.
  11. Remove cookie sheet from oven.
  12. With sharp knife, immediately slice each loaf into 1/2 to 3/4-inch slices.
  13. Turn down slices on same cookie sheet making sure they don't touch. Return to oven and bake 5 minutes longer or until lightly golden. Cool on wire rack.
  14. Makes about 2 1/2 dozen biscotti.
