Ziti And Cheese Bake
- 1 (16 oz.) pkg. ziti
- 1/4 lb. Port du Salut cheese (1 c. shredded)
- 3 Tbsp. flour
- 3 3/4 c. milk
- 1/2 lb. Fontina cheese (2 c. shredded)
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 1 (8 oz.) Mozzarella, sliced
- 1/4 c. seasoned bread crumbs
- Prepare ziti as directed; place in large bowl.
- In 3-quart saucepan over medium heat, into 3 tablespoons butter stir flour; cook 1 minute.
- Gradually stir in milk; cook, stirring, until sauce boils and thickens slightly.
- Stir in Fontina, Port du Salut and pepper.
- Pour cheese mixture over ziti; with rubber spatula, gently stir to coat ziti well.
- Spoon 1/2 mixture into deep 2 1/2-quart casserole.
- Top with Mozzarella.
- Spoon on rest of ziti mixture. Melt 1 tablespoon butter and mix with bread crumbs.
- Sprinkle on top of casserole.
- Bake for 1 1/4 hours at 350u0b0 until top is golden.
