Milk Chocolate Caramel Bars
- 1 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
- 1/2 c. packed brown sugar
- 1/2 c. margarine
- 3/4 c. caramel ice cream topping
- 3 oz. pkg. cream cheese, softened
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 egg
- 1 c. chopped nuts
- 1 c. chocolate chips
- Heat oven to 375u0b0. Spoon flour into measuring cup; level off. In large bowl, mix flour, brown sugar and margarine until crumbly. Reserve 3/4 cup. Press remainder in ungreased 9-inch square or 11 x 7-inch pan. In same bowl, combine 2/3 cup reserved flour mixture, caramel topping, cream cheese, vanilla and egg. Blend at low speed until well mixed. Stir in nuts. Pour over crumb mixture in pan. Bake at 375u0b0 for 30 to 35 minutes or until firm. Immediately sprinkle with chocolate chips. Spread when softened. Chill before cutting. Place leftovers in fridge.
