Cherry Squares

  1. Heat oven to 350u0b0.
  2. Grease 13 x 9-inch pan.
  3. In large bowl, combine cake mix, 6 tablespoons margarine and 1 cup oats.
  4. Mix until crumbly.
  5. Reserve 1 cup crumbs for topping.
  6. To remaining crumbs, add 1 egg; mix until well blended.
  7. Press into pan.
  8. Pour pie filling in and spread to cover.
  9. To reserved crumbs, in large bowl, add remaining 1/4 cup oats, 2 tablespoons margarine, nuts and brown sugar.
  10. Beat until well mixed.
  11. Sprinkle over cherry mixture.
  12. Bake at 350u0b0 for 30 to 40 minutes, until golden brown. Cool completely.
  13. If desired, serve with whipped cream.
  14. Serves 12.
