Pot Roast And Gravy
- 1 tsp. seasoned salt
- 1/2 tsp. onion powder
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 1/8 tsp. garlic powder
- 1/4 c. chopped green pepper
- 1 large onion
- 5 lb. pot roast
- 1 Tbsp. cooking oil
- 3/4 c. water
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 bay leaves
- 2 tsp. parsley flakes
- 1/4 tsp. dried thyme
- all-purpose flour
- Combine first 5 ingredients; rub into roast.
- Brown roast on all sides in hot oil.
- Add water and next 6 ingredients.
- Cover and bake at 325u0b0 for 3 hours or until tender.
- Remove from pan, reserving liquid in pan. Remove bay leaves; skim fat.
- Measure liquid; return to pan.
- Add in 1 to 1 1/2 tablespoons of flour and 2 tablespoons of water for each cup of liquid.
- Stir well.
- Stir flour mixture into liquid.
- Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thickened.
- Makes 8 to 10 servings.
