Pot Roast And Gravy

  1. Combine first 5 ingredients; rub into roast.
  2. Brown roast on all sides in hot oil.
  3. Add water and next 6 ingredients.
  4. Cover and bake at 325u0b0 for 3 hours or until tender.
  5. Remove from pan, reserving liquid in pan. Remove bay leaves; skim fat.
  6. Measure liquid; return to pan.
  7. Add in 1 to 1 1/2 tablespoons of flour and 2 tablespoons of water for each cup of liquid.
  8. Stir well.
  9. Stir flour mixture into liquid.
  10. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thickened.
  11. Makes 8 to 10 servings.
