Cabbage Rolls
- 2 lbs. ground beef
- 1 onion (chopped)
- 1 bell pepper (chopped)
- 2 small cans tomato sauce
- 1 can cheddar cheese soup
- 1/2 cup minute rice (uncooked)
- chili powder to taste
- salt to taste
- pepper to taste
- 1 large cabbage head
- Wilt cabbage head in boiling water, drain, and cool. Peel leaves carefully.
- Brown meat along with onion and bell pepper. Drain well. Season with salt, pepper and chili powder.
- Add tomato sauce, cheese soup and uncooked rice.
- Simmer 10-15 minutes.
- Fill cabbage leaves with portion of sauce.
- Roll up and fasten with toothpick.
- Place in casserole dish.
- Pour remaining sauce on top. These can be frozen for later use.
- Seal with foil.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.
- Yield: 1 dozen.
