Almond Cream Puff Ring

  1. About 3 hours before serving, in 2-quart saucepan over medium heat, heat water, butter or margarine and salt until butter melts and mixture boils.
  2. Remove saucepan from heat.
  3. With wooden spoon, vigorously stir in flour all at once until mixture forms a ball and leaves side of saucepan.
  4. Add eggs to flour mixture, one at a time, beating after each addition, until mixture is smooth and satiny.
  5. Cool mixture slightly.
  6. Preheat oven to 400u0b0. Lightly grease and flour large cookie sheet.
  7. Using 7-inch plate as a guide, trace a circle in flour on cookie sheet.
  8. Drop batter by heaping tablespoonfuls into 10 mounds, inside circle, to form a ring.
  9. Bake ring 40 minutes or until golden.
  10. Turn off oven; let ring remain in oven 15 minutes.
  11. Remove ring from oven; cool on wire rack.
  12. When ring is cool, with long serrated knife, slice horizontally in half.
  13. Prepare Almond-Cream Filling; spoon into bottom of ring.
  14. Replace top of ring.
  15. Refrigerate.
  16. Prepare Chocolate Glaze.
  17. Spoon glaze over top of ring.
  18. Makes 10 servings.
