My Grandma'S Tuna Dinner

  1. Place tuna steak in salt water to remove excess blood in steak. Soak.
  2. Wash thoroughly until water runs clean.
  3. Cut into cubes, 2 to 3-inches in size.
  4. Using large fryer, place oil to 1/8-inch in fryer.
  5. Peel garlic and cut and place in fryer on medium-low heat. Add onion and tuna cubes and cover.
  6. Turn as tuna browns.
  7. Recover. Add water enough to top of tuna cube.
  8. Add cloves, bay leaf and fresh tomato and cover.
  9. Add 1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce and stir in gently.
  10. Cover and simmer to reduce liquid to a thin sauce.
  11. Add 1 fresh hot pepper.
  12. When tuna and sauce are done, remove to a large serving platter.
  13. Serves 8.
