Brownies

  1. Cream eggs, sugar and 1 1/3 cups shortening.
  2. Add flour, baking powder, cocoa and salt.
  3. Mix well.
  4. Add Karo syrup and vanilla.
  5. Add nuts if desired.
  6. Bake at 350u0b0 for 20 to 30 minutes.
  7. Can be baked in a greased and floured 9 x 13-inch jelly roll pan.
  8. Cream 1/2 cup shortening, 1/2 cup margarine and vanilla.
  9. Add powdered sugar and 2 tablespoons of cocoa. Gradually add milk until desired spreading consistency.
