Savory Chuck Roast
- 3 Tbsp. flour
- 1 Tbsp. brown sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- dash of pepper
- 1/2 tsp. dry mustard
- 3/4 c. catsup
- 1/2 c. water
- 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1 Tbsp. vinegar
- 1 (4 lb.) beef chuck roast
- 1 onion, sliced
- 1 green pepper, sliced
- In bowl, combine flour, brown sugar, salt, pepper and dry mustard.
- Stir in catsup, water, Worcestershire sauce and vinegar. Place roast in 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking dish.
- Pour catsup mixture over roast.
- Cook covered at medium (350u0b0) oven for 45 minutes. Give dish half a turn.
- Add onion and green pepper, cover and cook for 30 to 45 minutes longer or until tender, turning dish halfway once.
- Skim fat from pan juices and serve with roast.
- Serves 6.
