Chinese Sesame Cookies

  1. Combine the flour, baking powder and salt in a bowl.
  2. In a larger bowl; beat the sugar, butter, egg and vanilla.
  3. Add your dry ingredients to the wet mixture and form a smooth dough.
  4. Roll your dough into a cylinder about 12-inches long.
  5. Divide the dough into two and cover with wax paper.
  6. Place both pieces of dough in the refrigerator for approximately 6-8 hours.
  7. YOU MUST DO THIS STEP.
  8. After refrigeration time is over, and you wish to make your cookies, preheat the oven to 350u0b0F.
  9. Cut your dough into rounds about 1/3 of an inch thickness.
  10. Continue by pressing each round into a plate full of sesame seeds.
  11. Place on a parchment-lined cookie sheet.
  12. Bake for 10-12 minutes until golden brown.
  13. Remove from oven and allow them to cool for a minute or two.
  14. Transfer to wire rack to cool completely.
  15. Store in air-tight containers.
