Mississippi Mud Cake

  1. Preheat oven to 350u0b0.
  2. Sift flour, baking powder and salt together 3 times.
  3. Set aside.
  4. Combine sugar and cocoa; mix well. Beat egg yolks in large bowl of electric mixer.
  5. Beat in water, vanilla and sugar mixture at medium speed.
  6. Beat in flour mixture. Beat egg whites until stiff peaks form; stir 1/4 of chocolate batter gently into whites.
  7. Fold egg whites into remaining batter. Pour into a greased and floured 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan and bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until a wooden pick inserted in center
  8. comes out clean.
