Walnut Clusters
- 1/2 c. sifted all-purpose flour or 1/2 c. instant type flour
- 1/4 tsp. double-acting baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 c. soft butter or margarine
- 1/2 c. granulated sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 envelopes (1 1/2 oz.) no-melt or premelted unsweetened chocolate
- 2 c. coarsely broken walnuts
- Preheat oven to 350u0b0.
- Sift together flour, baking powder and salt.
- In a bowl, with electric mixer at medium speed, beat butter with sugar until creamy.
- Next, beat in egg, vanilla, then chocolate, then flour mixture.
- Fold in walnuts.
- Drop mixture by heaping teaspoonfuls 1-inch apart onto greased cookie sheets.
- Bake just 10 minutes, no longer.
- Cool.
- Store in container with loose fitting cover.
- Makes about 2 1/2 dozen.
