Flemish Beef And Beer
- 1/2 c. vegetable oil
- 1 large onion, thinly sliced
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 2 lb. round steak
- 2 or 3 Tbsp. flour
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 2 parsley sprigs, chopped
- 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
- 1/2 tsp. dried thyme
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 (12 oz.) can beer
- 1 Tbsp. brown sugar
- Preheat oven to 325u0b0.
- Saute onions and garlic until transparent, then put in small bowl.
- Trim meat and cut into cubes.
- Dredge meat in flour, salt and pepper and brown meat. Place meat into glass baking dish and spread veggies over top. Sprinkle with parsley, nutmeg, thyme and bay leaf.
- Pour beer and sprinkle brown sugar over all.
- Can use wild game meat, works well.
- Cover and bake for 2 1/2 to 3 hours.
