Shrimp Creole

  1. Melt butter over low heat in a large frying pan. Saute chopped garlic, onion, chopped celery and sliced mushrooms.
  2. Add flour, salt, pepper, white wine vinegar, sugar, bay leaf, paprika, chili powder and hot pepper sauce. Cook 5 minutes or until mixture thickens.
  3. Add chopped tomatoes and liquid and simmer for 20 minutes. Add green pepper and shrimp to frying pan. Cover and simmer for an additional 10 minutes. Serve over hot rice. Serves 4.
