Penny Pizzas
- 2 1/4 c. sifted flour
- 4 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
- 1/4 tsp. garlic salt
- 1/4 tsp. onion salt
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 1/4 c. Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 tsp. dried basil
- 1/2 tsp. oregano
- 1/3 c. shortening
- 1/3 c. milk
- 1 egg
- 1/3 c. tomato paste
- 1 lb. wieners, cut in 1/2-inch pieces
- Sift first 6 ingredients together. Stir in cheese, basil and oregano.
- Cut shortening into flour mixture to make coarse crumbs. Add milk, tomato paste and unbeaten egg, stirring with fork until dough follows fork around bowl.
- Knead on floured board 5 or 6 times.
- Roll dough around wieners to form cup.
- Place on baking sheet. Bake at 350u0b0 until brown.
- Yields 8 dozen.
