Apple Cinnamon Walnut Bread
- 2 pkg. yeast
- 1/3 c. sugar
- 3/4 c. warm water
- 1 1/4 c. warm milk
- 1/2 stick (1/4 c.) butter (soft)
- 1 Tbsp. cinnamon
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 orange rind
- 2 grated apples (medium)
- 1 c. ground walnuts
- 2 c. whole-wheat flour
- 4 c. white flour
- Mix yeast, sugar and warm water.
- Proof 5 minutes.
- Add warm milk, butter, cinnamon, baking soda, orange rind, apples and walnuts.
- Add flours.
- Knead 10 minutes.
- Let rise until double. Divide into two.
- Roll into rectangle.
- Add 1/2 cup raisins soaked in Grand Marnier.
- Put in pans (bread).
- Let rise.
- Bake at 425u0b0 for 10 minutes and 350u0b0 for 20 to 25 minutes.
- Sprinkle with powdered sugar.
