Gumdrop Cake

  1. Cream first 4 ingredients and set aside.
  2. Sift together dry ingredients.
  3. Stir gumdrops, raisins and nuts into flour mixture. Add flour mixture to creamed mixture, alternating with applesauce. Beat well after each addition.
  4. Pour batter into a 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan lined with triple layers of waxed paper.
  5. Bake in 350u0b0 oven for 1 hour, or until it tests done.
  6. Let set in pan for 30 minutes. Cool thoroughly and store in foil.
  7. Makes one 5-pound cake.
