Grandma Sawyer'S Old Time Fruitcake

• 1/4 lb. butter
• 2 c. sugar
• 5 eggs
• 3 c. flour
• 1 Tbsp. baking powder
• 1 Tbsp. cocoa
• 2 tsp. allspice
• 1 c. fig preserves
• 1 orange, grated
• 1/2 lb. candied pineapple
• 1 jar cherries
• 1/2 lb. raisins
• 1/2 lb. coconut
• 1 qt. pecans, chopped
• 1 pt. walnuts, chopped

1. Cream butter and sugar.
2. Add eggs, one at a time, mixing after each addition.
3. Mix dry ingredients together and add to sugar mixture, mixing well.
4. Stir in fig preserves and grated orange.
5. Add remaining ingredients and mix together.
6. Grandma always used her hands to mix it together real good.
7. Bake in a greased tube pan in a 300u0b0 oven for about 1 1/2 to 2 hours.
