Lentil Burgers

  1. Rinse and
  2. drain the lentils and put in medium saucepan with the
  3. watertnd
  4. 3/4
  5. teaspoon
  6. salt.
  7. Cook 25 minutes or until tender.
  8. Drain and discard excess cooking liquid.
  9. Mash lentils. Int
  10. medium
  11. skillet,
  12. melt 1 tablespoon butter or margarine and add onions and garlic.
  13. Saute until soft, about 2 or
  14. 3
  15. minutes. Stir
  16. in
  17. lentils, along with crumbs, wheat germ, walnuts,
  18. eggs, steak
  19. sauce, 1/2 teaspoon salt and hot pepper
  20. sauce.
  21. Shape into
  22. fourtatties.
  23. Melttemaining 2 tablespoons
  24. butter
  25. or margarine and fry patties over medium heat until
  26. brown,
  27. 3
  28. to 5 minutes each side, lifting patties occasionally
  29. with
  30. spatula
  31. to prevent sticking.terve with sliced tomato or onion, if desired.
