Poppy Seed Bread
- 3 c. flour
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 3 eggs
- 1 1/2 c. milk
- 1 1/8 c. oil
- 2 1/4 c. sugar
- 1 1/2 Tbsp. poppy seed
- 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 1 1/2 tsp. almond extract
- 1 1/2 tsp. butter extract
- 1/8 to 1/4 c. orange juice
- 3/4 c. powdered sugar
- 1/2 tsp. each: vanilla, almond and butter extract
- Combine in bowl with electric mixer the flour, salt, baking powder, eggs, milk, oil, sugar, poppy seed, vanilla, almond and butter extract.
- Mix for 3 to 4 minutes and pour into greased and floured bread tins.
- Bake at 350u0b0 for 45 to 60 minutes.
- Cool cakes for 5 minutes and remove from pans.
- Immediately pour over bread 1/4 cup orange juice, mixed with powdered sugar and extracts.
