Seven Layer Garden Salad
- 1 head lettuce
- 1/2 c. chopped red onion
- 1/2 c. chopped green pepper
- 1/2 c. chopped celery (if desired)
- 1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen green peas, cooked and drained
- 1/2 c. mayonnaise
- 1 1/2 c. sour cream
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 1/4 tsp. black pepper
- 6 oz. cheese, shredded
- bacon pieces
- Fill large bowl half full with broken up lettuce.
- Add in layers: onion, green pepper, celery and peas.
- Mix together mayonnaise and sour cream.
- Spread over layer of peas.
- Do not mix!
- Sprinkle sugar and pepper over dressing and cover top with shredded cheese.
- Sprinkle bacon bits on top of cheese.
- Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 8 hours.
- Keeps well for several days.
