Italian Tailgate Sandwiches
- MEAT PATTIES
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 lb hot pork sausage (such as Jimmy Dean brand)
- 1/2 cup Italian seasoned breadcrumbs
- 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
- 1 tablespoon italian seasoning
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon fennel seed
- salt and pepper
- SAUCE
- 1 (27 1/2 ounce) jar spaghetti sauce (or 2 jars if you want extra sauce)
- 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
- 1 tablespoon italian seasoning
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- Combine meat mixture and seasonings.
- Make into 10-12 thin patties and brown in frying pan until done.
- Combine sauce ingredients in crock pot.
- Add browned patties and cook on low for 4-5 hours.
- Serve patties on buns with or without mozzarella or provolone cheese.
