Mrs. Doll Kirkley'S Fruit Cake

  1. Sift together flour, baking powder and spices 4 times.
  2. Set aside, then cream butter thoroughly.
  3. Add sugar to butter and cream together until light and fluffy.
  4. Add eggs and mix thoroughly.
  5. Roll fruits and nuts in flour and spices.
  6. Add fruits, nuts and flour into batter.
  7. Then add jelly, syrup and cider or wine.
  8. Mix thoroughly and pour into four 8 x 8 x 2-inch greased pans lined with heavy paper.
  9. Grease paper lining too. Bake at 250u0b0 for 3 to 3 1/2 hours.
  10. Makes 10 pounds fruit cake.
