Beef 'N Biscuit Casserole
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1/2 c. chopped onion or 2 Tbsp. instant onion
- 1/4 c. diced green pepper or green chiles
- 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
- 3 tsp. chili powder
- 3/4 tsp. garlic salt
- 1 (8 oz.) can refrigerated biscuits
- 1 1/2 c. shredded Monterey Jack or Cheddar cheese
- 1/2 c. dairy sour cream
- 1 egg, slightly beaten
- Brown beef and onion.
- Drain.
- Stir in tomato sauce, chili powder and garlic salt.
- Simmer while preparing dough.
- Separate dough into 10 biscuits, then pull those apart into 2 layers.
- Press 10 biscuits layering over bottom of ungreased 8 or 9-inch baking pan.
- Combine 1/2 cup cheese (saving rest for topping), sour cream and egg.
- Mix well.
- Remove meat from heat; stir in sour cream mixture; spoon over dough.
- Arrange remaining biscuit layers on top; sprinkle with remaining cheese.
- Bake at 375u0b0 for 25 to 30 minutes or until the biscuits are deep golden brown.
- Makes 4 to 5 servings.
