Taco Salad
- 3 1/3 c. water
- 2 to 3 tsp. chili powder
- 1 large clove garlic, crushed
- dash of cayenne pepper (optional)
- 6 c. shredded lettuce
- 1 medium green pepper, chopped
- 2 medium tomatoes, chopped
- 1/3 c. sliced green onions with tops
- 1/4 c. sliced, pitted ripe olives
- 1 lb. ground meat
- 1 pkg. Hamburger Helper (cheeseburger)
- Cook ground meat until brown.
- Drain.
- Stir in Hamburger Helper, water, chili powder, garlic and cayenne pepper.
- Heat to boiling, stirring often.
- Reduce heat and simmer, stirring often for 15 minutes.
- Uncover and cook 15 minutes.
- Place lettuce, green peppers, tomatoes, onions and olives in a large bowl.
- Serve immediately or cover and refrigerate until chilled at least 4 hours.
- Serve with tortilla chips and sour cream.
