Almond Apple Cake(Blue Ribbon Recipe)

  1. Grease well and flour an angel food pan.
  2. In mixer, blend 1/2 cup butter with 1 cup sugar.
  3. Add egg and almond flavoring.
  4. Blend in flour, salt and baking powder; mix well.
  5. Chill batter well. Press into bottom and up sides about 2 to 3 inches.
  6. Flour fingers to help, as batter is sticky.
  7. Peel apples; use hand grater, shredder side.
  8. Slice right into pan.
  9. Apples can also be chopped. Sprinkle with lemon juice.
