Spaghetti With Fresh Tomato Sauce

  1. In a large saute pan, heat the oil until hot.
  2. Add the tomatoes and saute over low heat for 5 minutes.
  3. Add garlic and cook 30 seconds more.
  4. In a large pot, bring water to boil.
  5. Add pasta and 1 tablespoon of salt.
  6. Cook pasta until tender, but still has some bite.
  7. Remove 1 1/2 cups of the pasta cooking water and pour it over the tomatoes.
  8. Drain pasta and transfer to a large bowl.
  9. Bring tomato mixture to a boil.
  10. Add the pasta, basil, salt and pepper; toss thoroughly and serve at once.
  11. Pass the cheese separately.
