Cream Puff Dessert
- 1 c. water
- 1/2 c. margarine
- 1 c. flour
- 4 eggs
- 2 1/2 c. milk
- 1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese (softened at room temperature)
- 3 (3.5 oz. each) pkg. vanilla flavor instant pudding mix
- 1 (12 oz.) carton frozen whipped topping, thawed
- shaved chocolate, chocolate syrup or garnish of your choice (optional)
- Preheat oven to 400u0b0.
- Grease a 10 1/2 x 15-inch baking pan (jelly roll type with sides; I used a 9 x 13-inch pan).
- In a saucepan over high heat, bring water and margarine to a boil. Reduce heat.
- Stir in flour until mixture forms a ball. Remove from heat.
- By hand, beat in eggs, one at a time. Beat well after each addition until mixture is smooth. Spread mixture evenly over bottom of prepared pan.
- Bake for 25 minutes.
- (Surface of pastry will be uneven.) Cool completely in pan on wire rack.
