Apple Stack Cake

  1. Mix and set aside the flour, baking soda and salt.
  2. Heat molasses, shortening and sugar until all are dissolved.
  3. Combine beaten eggs with milk, vanilla and oil of cinnamon.
  4. Add to molasses mixture.
  5. Make a hole in the flour mixture.
  6. Pour the liquid in slowly.
  7. Mix until the mixture is a stiff dough.
  8. Chill for 30 minutes.
  9. Roll out a small ball of dough on a floured board until it is no more than 1/2-inch thick.
  10. Cut out circle of dough in shape of a pie pan.
  11. Place circles on cookie sheets and bake at 350u0b0 until brown.
  12. Let cool.
  13. Place in stacks using applesauce between layers.
  14. Let stand for 36 hours.
