Aunt Sue'S Chocolate Chip Buttermilk Cookies(Makes Enough For Several Hungry Kids.)

  1. Stir together the flour and soda; set aside.
  2. Cream the sugars and shortening
  3. until
  4. light and fluffy, using mixer at medium speed.
  5. Add
  6. eggs,
  7. one
  8. at
  9. a time, beating well after each addition.
  10. Blend
  11. in vanilla.
  12. Add dry ingredients alternately with buttermilk
  13. to
  14. the
  15. creamed mixture, beating well after each addition,
  16. using
  17. mixer
  18. at
  19. low
  20. speed.
  21. Stir
  22. in chocolate bits and nuts.
  23. Drop by teaspoonfuls, about 2 inches apart, onto greased baking
  24. sheets.
  25. Bake at 350u0b0 for 12 to 15 minutes or until
  26. golden
  27. brown.
  28. Remove
  29. from
  30. baking sheets. Cool on racks. Makes about 9 dozen cookies.
