Easy Cheesy Dog Treats
- 2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded
- 4 cups whole wheat flour
- 2 teaspoons garlic powder (DO NOT use garlic salt!)
- 3 beef bouillon cubes
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup canola oil
- 1 tablespoon honey barbeque sauce
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
- In a large bowl, mix together cheese, whole wheat flour and garlic powder.
- Place beef bouillon cubes in a small bowl.
- Add 1 cup water.
- Microwave the bouillon mixture for 1 minute or until the water is very hot.
- Stir and mash bouillon cubes until you have a very concentrated beef broth.
- Add oil, broth and honey BBQ sauce to the flour/cheese mixture. You may have to use your hand for this but it doesn't stick very much.
- Place on counter (you don't need flour) and knead 10 to 15 times.
- Roll out to 1/4" thickness.
- Cut out shapes with a cookie cutter (I used a flower cutter that was about 2-1/2" across).
- Spray a cookie sheet; place the cut-outs on the sheet.
- Bake for 18 to 20 minutes (less time makes them softer).
- To keep them soft, store in the refrigerator.
