Old Timey Beef Stew(Make Out Stew)
- sirloin steak or roast (optional; use as much meat as you like)
- 2 cans English peas
- 2 can whole kernel corn (Pride of Illinois)
- 1 bunch celery, cut in inch long pieces
- 2 c. carrots, scraped and cut crosswise in quarter inch pieces
- 4 large Irish potatoes, quartered and cut in bite size pieces
- 2 bags elbow macaroni, cooked until tender (not mushy)
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 bag frozen okra
- 2 cans tomato paste (stir in hot water)
- 1 can lima beans
- season to taste with Season-All, pepper and salt
- onions to taste (optional)
- Cut steak into 1/2-inch pieces and boil separately until tender.
- Add seasonings to the water.
- Boil the roast by itself until tender, then slice in 1-inch pieces and square it.
- Make sure water is well seasoned.
- You boil them separately because it may take the roast longer to get done.
- You do not want your meat mushy.
- You want it to stay firm and look nice.
- You should also boil the following vegetables separately until they are firm: celery, carrots, potatoes, onions and lima beans.
- They should be firm, not mushy.
- Boil macaroni separately until tender.
