Frosted Fudge Squares
- 3 1/2 (1 oz.) sq. unsweetened chocolate
- 3/4 c. butter or margarine
- 4 eggs
- 2 c. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 c. chopped pecans or walnuts
- Favorite Brownie Frosting
- Melt chocolate and butter in top of a double boiler over simmering water; set aside to cool.
- Beat egg whites lightly with a wooden spoon; gradually add sugar, salt and vanilla, stirring well, and stir in cooled chocolate mixture.
- Sift flour over pecans.
- Mix well and stir into batter.
- Spread batter in a greased 12 x 8 x 2-inch baking pan.
- Bake at 325u0b0 for 35 to 40 minutes.
- Frost with Favorite Brownie Frosting.
- Cut into 1 1/2-inch squares while warm.
- Yields about 3 dozen.
