Frosted Fudge Squares

  1. Melt chocolate and butter in top of a double boiler over simmering water; set aside to cool.
  2. Beat egg whites lightly with a wooden spoon; gradually add sugar, salt and vanilla, stirring well, and stir in cooled chocolate mixture.
  3. Sift flour over pecans.
  4. Mix well and stir into batter.
  5. Spread batter in a greased 12 x 8 x 2-inch baking pan.
  6. Bake at 325u0b0 for 35 to 40 minutes.
  7. Frost with Favorite Brownie Frosting.
  8. Cut into 1 1/2-inch squares while warm.
  9. Yields about 3 dozen.
