Mike'S Famous Spaghetti Sauce
- 3 lb. ground sirloin
- 6 links Italian sausage (3 mild and 3 hot)
- 2 medium onions
- 2 bell peppers
- 1 small jalapeno, finely chopped (optional)
- 24 oz. fresh mushrooms, sliced
- 4 cloves garlic (fry 2 cloves in sirloin)
- 2 (8 oz.) cans tomatoes sauce
- 2 (6 oz.) cans tomato paste
- 1 (14 oz.) can Hunt's choice-cut diced tomatoes with Italian style herbs
- 1 (10 oz.) can Ro-Tel tomatoes with green chilies
- 2 qt. diced tomatoes
- pinch of basil and thyme
- 1 bay leaf
- 1/2 to 1 tsp. each oregano, tarragon, paprika and dill weed
- salt and pepper to taste
- Cut links into bite-sized pieces.
- Fry by itself until brown. Then put in pot with other ingredients.
- In large skillet fry sirloin, 1 onion, 2 cloves of garlic and 1 bell pepper until almost done.
- Then add into pot with other ingredients.
- Combine all ingredients and simmer for 2 1/2 to 3 hours.
- Add mushrooms 1 hour before sauce is done.
