Cocktail Meatballs
- 1 lb. hamburger
- 1/2 c. bread crumbs
- 1/2 c. minced onion
- 1/4 c. milk
- 1 egg
- 1 Tbsp. parsley flakes
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
- 1/4 c. shortening
- 1 (12 oz.) bottle chile sauce
- 10 oz. grape jelly
- Combine first 9 ingredients in a large bowl.
- Mix well. To form
- meatballs,
- use
- 1
- tablespoonful of meat mixture and roll into
- balls.
- Heatthortening in large skillet on medium heat. Cook
- meatball
- until
- brown on the outside and done on the inside.
- You
- can
- also broil meatballs until done.
- Drain meatballs well
- and
- put to the side.
- In a medium saucepan on low heat,
- heat jelly until it is a liquid, stirring constantly.
- Then add chile sauce.
- Continue stirring until hot.
- Pour over meatballs.terve
- very warm.
- Makes 10 servings.
- Can be made ahead, freezes well.
- Sauce tastes better if made ahead.
