Chicken A La King Casserole
- 1 (5 oz.) pkg. medium noodles
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup
- 1 (6 oz.) can evaporated milk
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 1/2 c. shredded American cheese (about 6 oz.)
- 1 c. slivered almonds (optional)
- minced onion (optional)
- 4 to 6 saltine crackers
- 2 c. cooked, diced chicken
- 1 c. sliced celery
- 1/4 c. diced green pepper
- 1/4 c. diced pimiento
- margarine
- Cook noodles according to package directions, drain and set aside.
- Saute celery, pepper and onion.
- Mix soup, milk and salt, stirring constantly.
- Add remaining ingredients.
- Add to noodles, pour all into a buttered casserole.
- Top with crumbs (crush saltine crackers and mix with 2 tablespoons melted butter).
- Bake 30 minutes at 400u0b0.
