Nutty-Chocolate-Thumbprint Cookies

• 1/2 c. butter or margarine
• 2/3 c. sugar
• 1 egg, separated
• 2 Tbsp. milk
• 1 tsp. vanilla extract
• 1 c. all-purpose flour
• 1/3 c. cocoa powder
• 1/4 tsp. salt
• 1 c. chopped nuts
• 26 chocolate kisses candy or candied cherries

1. Cream
2. the
3. first 5 ingredients in small bowl.tombine flour, cocoa
4. and salt.
5. Blend into creamed mixture.
6. Chill 1 hour
7. or until firm enough to handle.
8. Shape dough into 1-inch balls.
9. Beat egg
10. white
11. slightly.
12. Dip
13. each
14. ball
15. into egg white.
16. Roll
17. in nuts.
18. Place on lightly greased cookie sheet. Press thumb gently in center of each cookie.
19. Bake at 350u0b0 for 10
20. to 12 minutes and remove from pan gently.
21. Press kisses or cherries in center of each cookie.
22. Cool.
