Pound Cake
- 2 c. sugar
- 2 c. flour
- 6 eggs, well beaten
- 1 c. Wesson oil
- 1 tsp. lemon juice, almond and vanilla
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. butter
- 1 c. dark molasses
- 2 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. ground cloves
- 1 tsp. ground allspice
- 1 1/2 c. boiling water
- 2 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1/2 c. granulated sugar
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 2 heaping tsp. ground ginger
- 1 tsp. ground Espresso coffee
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. soda
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- powdered sugar
- Cream butter and sugar. Mix molasses with 1 teaspoon soda and add to butter mixture. Beat until light and fluffy. Sift flour, baking powder and spices. Add to boiling water, beating until very smooth. Add beaten eggs. Pour into pans to bake at 350u0b0 for 30 minutes. Cool and turn on platter. Dust with sifted powdered sugar and serve with whipped cream.
