Apple Butter Layer Cake
- 3 c. flour
- 1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 3/4 tsp. salt
- 3/4 tsp. nutmeg
- 3/4 tsp. cinnamon
- 3/4 tsp. ground cloves
- 1 c. raisins
- 1/2 c. chopped black walnuts
- 3/4 c. butter or margarine, softened
- 1 1/4 c. sugar
- 3 eggs
- 1/2 c. buttermilk
- 1 1/2 c. apple butter
- Stir together flour, salt, soda, spices, raisins and walnuts. Beat butter and sugar together until fluffy.
- Beat eggs, one at a time.
- Combine buttermilk and apple butter.
- Add alternately with flour mixture, mixing well after each addition.
- Pour into two greased and floured 9-inch round cake pans.
- Bake at 350u0b0 for 35 to 40 minutes.
- Remove from pan and cool thoroughly.
- Frost with Creamy Vanilla Frosting.
