Caraway Puffs
- 1 pkg. active dry yeast
- 1 1/3 c. sifted flour
- 1/4 tsp. baking soda
- 1 c. cottage cheese (cream-style)
- 1/4 c. water
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 Tbsp. butter
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 egg
- 2 tsp. caraway seed
- 2 tsp. grated onion
- 1 c. flour
- In bowl, combine yeast, flour and baking soda.
- Heat together cottage cheese, water, sugar, butter and salt.
- Add egg, 2 teaspoons caraway seed and onion.
- Add this mixture to dry mixture at high speed.
- Stir in 1 cup more flour.
- Place in greased bowl, turning once.
- Cover; let rise until doubled (about 1 1/2 hours). Divide among 12 well-greased muffin pans.
- Cover; let rise about 40 minutes.
- When fingers are pressed lightly into dough and dents remain, dough is ready.
- Bake at 400u0b0 for 12 to 15 minutes.
