Bearden Chili
- 2 lb. ground beef
- 4 (egg size) onions, chopped
- 2 Tbsp. vinegar
- 3 Tbsp. chili powder
- 1/2 tsp. ground red pepper
- 1/2 tsp. cumin
- 1/4 tsp. garlic powder
- 5 whole bay leaves
- 3 c. water
- 2 tsp. cinnamon
- 2 dashes Worcestershire sauce
- 1 (15 oz.) can tomato sauce
- 1 tsp. crushed red pepper
- 1 tsp. seasoned salt
- 1/2 tsp. black pepper
- 1 tsp. whole allspice (using a tea ball)
- Saute beef and onion just until red is gone.
- Drain fat.
- Add ingredients as listed.
- Cook 3 hours.
- Do not undercook; stir frequently the last hour.
- Freezes well.
- Can be served over spaghetti with grated cheese and extra chopped onion, if desired.
