Creamed Green Beans With Onions(Makes 8 Servings)
- 3 Tbsp. butter or margarine
- 2 Tbsp. flour
- 1 tsp. dry mustard
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 1 c. Borden half and half
- 1 (20 oz.) pkg. frozen small whole onions, thawed and very well drained
- 2 (9 oz.) pkg. frozen French-style green beans, thawed and very well drained
- 12 slices Borden American process cheese food
- 1/2 c. chopped pecans or walnuts
- Preheat oven to 350u0b0.
- In large saucepan, melt butter.
- Stir in flour, mustard, salt and pepper.
- Cook and stir over low heat until mixture is bubbly.
- Gradually stir in half and half.
- Stir in vegetables.
- In 8-inch square baking dish, place 1/3 vegetable mixture and top with 4 slices cheese.
- Repeat 2 times, ending with cheese, then nuts.
- Bake, uncovered, 35 minutes or until hot. Refrigerate leftovers.
