Spicy Pasta Pie
- 1 pkg. broken vermicelli
- 1/2 c. chopped onion
- 1 can tomatoes, cut up
- 1 1/2 Tbsp. Italian seasoning
- nonstick spray coating
- 1 pkg. turkey breakfast sausage
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 can tomato paste
- 1 c. shredded Mozzarella cheese
- 1/8 tsp. crushed red pepper
- Cook vermicelli according to package.
- Drain well; set aside. Meanwhile in a large skillet, cook turkey sausage, onion and garlic until sausage is no longer pink and onion is tender.
- Drain off fat.
- Stir in undrained tomatoes, tomato paste, Italian seasoning and crushed pepper.
- Spray a casserole dish with nonstick coating.
- Place half of the cooked vermicelli in the bottom of the dish.
- Top with half of the sausage mixture and half of the Mozzarella cheese.
- Repeat layers.
- Cover the dish loosely with foil.
- Bake in a 350u0b0 oven for 25 to 30 minutes or until heated through.
- Let stand 10 minutes and serve.
